Taylor Swift's upcoming 'The Era Tour' concert film has already amassed an impressive $100 million in advance ticket sales.

LOS ANGELES, Oct 7, (AP): The upcoming Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" concert movie is poised to become the highest-grossing music concert film in history. Although the film, which documents Taylor Swift's sold-out 2023 stadium tour spanning her career, is set to open on October 13, it has already amassed an impressive $100 million in advance ticket sales, just a week before its global release in over 8,500 theaters.

AMC Theatres announced that the 2-hour and 45-minute concert film, directed by Sam Wrench (known for "Billie Eilish Live at the O2"), is expected to achieve opening grosses ranging from $100 million to $125 million in North America alone. In North America, the film will screen in over 4,000 theaters, encompassing the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The film's initial release broke one-day sales records for AMC, generating $26 million within the first 24 hours of going on sale.

If these figures hold, The Eras film will effortlessly surpass the previous record-holder for music films, 2011's "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never," which grossed a total of $73 million.

AMC reported robust advance ticket sales in the US, particularly for premium formats such as Imax, Dolby Cinema, and PRIME at AMC. Every AMC theater in the US will simultaneously screen the film at 6 p.m. local time on October 13. Cinemark and Regal Cinemas will also showcase the movie in the U.S., while Cineplex will present it in Canada, and Cinepolis will handle its distribution in Mexico.

The world premiere of the film will be held in Los Angeles on October 11. This event comes at a time when studios have had to adjust their fall release schedules due to recent strikes in Hollywood. Swift's ability to promote the Eras film is made possible by an interim agreement established by SAG-AFTRA, covering individual non-AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) productions that align with the unions' negotiation standards with studios.

A source closely associated with the Swift film confirmed that the Eras documentary had obtained clearance under this agreement even before the commencement of filming. While Swift has not engaged in high-profile promotions for the film, she has garnered attention in the past weeks for her viral appearances at Kansas City Chiefs games, where she has been seen cheering for her rumored romantic interest, KC tight end Travis Kelce. Swift and Kelce have not publicly confirmed their dating status.
