LONDON, Oct 3: A crude oil tanker was struck by an unknown projectile about 4 nautical miles east of Oman, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported on Friday, in the latest maritime security incident in the region. According to UKMTO Warning 149-26, the vessel’s master reported that the tanker was hit on its port side. All crew members were reported safe, and no environmental impact had been reported at the time of the alert. The identity of the projectile and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, with authorities investigating. UKMTO advised vessels operating in the area to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.
