Tanker Fire Off Oman Leaves One Dead, Two Missing

MUSCAT, Jun 10: A tanker suffered an engine-room fire northeast of Sohar, Oman, leaving one crew member dead and two others missing, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Wednesday.

According to UKMTO, the incident prompted an evacuation of the vessel, with the remaining crew members assisting in emergency response efforts.

The vessel reported no environmental impact from the fire, while authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident. The condition of the tanker and the search for the missing crew members remain ongoing.
