Talks focus on Kuwaiti missing persons, property & expats
Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah receives United Nations Secretary-General’s Senior Representative for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 2792 (2025) Mary Yamashita. .

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received on Wednesday the United Nations Secretary-General’s Senior Representative for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 2792 (2025) Mary Yamashita on her official visit to Kuwait. Yamashita is concerned with the follow-up of the file of missing Kuwaiti nationals, Kuwaiti property and third-country nationals, including the national archives.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah congratulated Yamashita on assuming her new position and expressed Kuwait’s aspiration to work closely with her during the coming period. He affirmed Kuwait’s full support for her efforts in carrying out her mandate efficiently and effectively in a manner that contributes to advancing efforts aimed at achieving tangible progress in the search for missing Kuwaiti nationals and third-country nationals, determining their fate, and recovering Kuwaiti property, including the national archives. He stressed that these issues remain a top priority for the State of Kuwait given their national and humanitarian dimensions.(KUNA)
