KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10:  In a successful operation aimed at curbing drug smuggling, authorities thwarted an attempt by two individuals to transport approximately 400 kilograms of hashish, one million Captagon pills, and half a kilogram of crystal meth by sea.

As part of the Ministry of the Interior's ongoing efforts to apprehend drug traffickers and smugglers, the Criminal Security Sector, working in collaboration with the General Administration for Narcotics Control and the General Administration of the Coast Guard, managed to intercept an endeavor by two individuals to illicitly transport a substantial quantity of narcotics by sea.

Through rigorous search, investigation, monitoring, and surveillance efforts carried out by the General Administration of Narcotics Control, two suspects planning to smuggle drugs via a boat were identified. Following coordination with the General Administration of the Coast Guard and utilizing radar systems for tracking, the boat was apprehended and subjected to a thorough search. The search yielded the discovery of approximately 400 kilograms of hashish, one million Captagon pills, half a kilogram of crystal meth, a firearm, and ammunition.

The individuals involved in the smuggling attempt, along with the confiscated items, have been handed over to the relevant authorities to initiate the necessary legal proceedings.
