The senior official said the security personnel in addition to manning the entrances will also monitor the situation from control rooms and press into service what the ministry called ‘foot patrols’ indicating that the distribution of force in each security directorate has been completed and spoke of the readiness of the public security sector and the rest of the other agencies to follow up on the implementation of the orders of the Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali to implement Cabinet instructions. He added the instructions of the Minister come into force today (Sunday) and members of the public security police will be posted at 10 major complexes, including the Avenues, Marina and Al- Kout. At each gate one or two policemen will be posted to ensure smooth entry of those who have been vaccinated. Regarding the regional ban or the partial ban again, Major General Al-Zoubi told the daily, there are no plans for this so far, and “if there is a need for that, certain areas will be closed for a limited period during which all residents will be vaccinated.”

Decision
The Deputy Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for the Implementation of Health Requirements, Director- General of Kuwait Municipality, Eng. Ahmad Al-Manfouhi, in confirmation of what was published by the Al-Seyassah daily last Monday, announced yesterday that the military will help the civilian team to implement the decision and ban the entry of people – who have not been vaccinated — into the shopping malls, restaurants and health institutes, reports Al- Seyassah. He explained the state during the next two months needs to intensify campaigns to follow up on the implementation of Cabinet decisions in the hope of acquiring herd immunity. He explained the field teams from the concerned government agencies will man the entrances to the malls and other public places and will allow entry only to those who have taken the vaccine (even if they have received one dose). This will be done in cooperation and coordination with the owners of the malls and other public places.

He explained the citizens and residents must download the “My Identity” application issued by the Public Authority for Civil Information or the “Manna” application issued by the Ministry of Health on their smart phones and show this to the field teams in the malls to be allowed to enter. He indicated the field teams will also visit restaurants, cafés, health clubs, and women’s and men’s salons to ensure all visitors to these places apply health requirements and allow entry only to those who have taken the approved vaccine in Kuwait. Al-Manfouhi has called on everyone to cooperate with the field teams to help them implement the Cabinet decision in the best interest of the health and safety of shoppers and prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
