Dignitaries join hands to cut the cake during the celebration of the 34th National Day of the Republic of Tajikistan in Kuwait, highlighting three decades of strong diplomatic and developmental ties.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydov said Kuwait is one of the most important partners of his country in the Middle East and the world, praising the unwavering support of the Kuwaiti leadership for efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and consolidate cooperation in various fields. Zubaydov made the statement at the celebration that the Embassy Tajikistan organized recently on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of their independence, in the presence of Minister of Electricity, Water, Renewable Energy and Finance and acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem and several heads of missions. He said “we enjoy fraternal relations and mutual respect with Kuwait that date back three decades.

Since Kuwait’s early recognition of Tajikistan’s independence in 1991, we have viewed it as a reliable partner and a sincere friend.” He disclosed that 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, affirming that these three decades have witnessed “steady strengthening of cooperation in the fields of development, humanitarian affairs, and regional and international issues.” He expressed his gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah and Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya for their efforts and support in strengthening cooperation between the two countries. He stated that since declaring its independence in 1991, his country has achieved “remarkable progress in development” under the leadership of President Emomali Rahmon. He pointed out that the government has adopted programs and strategies in recent years, particularly the National Development Strategy until 2030, which has four main pillars -- energy, communications, food security and industry. He said Tajikistan is working hard to solidify its position on the international stage through initiatives related to water, climate, environment, artificial intelligence and regional integration.

He praised the significant role played by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in implementing important infrastructure and social projects in Tajikistan. He confirmed that these contributions “reflect the depth of fraternal relations and help in supporting the country’s development.” He then cited the open door policy that his country has adopted since its independence, as it contributed to the expansion of its network of foreign relations, stressing that Kuwait was among the first countries to support his country and engage with it. He revealed that his country, under the leadership of President Emomali Rahmon, intends to strengthen cooperation with Kuwait in the developmental, economic and humanitarian fields. “We are confident that joint efforts will elevate our relations to broader horizons, serving the interests of our two friendly peoples,” he added.
