Syrian teenage girl attempts suicide; Two young Kuwaitis assault parents

KUWAIT CITY, July 21: A Syrian teenaged girl tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of a moving vehicle which hit her and caused injuries, reports Al-Anba daily. According to the driver of the vehicle, the teenager, her mother and sister were crossing the road in Farwaniya and he was surprised when the girl stopped in front of his vehicle. The driver disclosed he could not maneuver the car to avoid hitting the girl as he was surprised when she suddenly stopped. Parents assaulted: Two young citizens have been accused of assaulting their parents, reports Al-Anba daily. A case was registered against a 22-year-old Kuwaiti youth who beat his father due to a misunderstanding and the latter’s nose bled. The father filed a complaint at Hawally Police Station and substantiated his claim with a medical report. On the other hand, the mother of a 21-year-old citizen filed a case against him as he allegedly hit her so she fell on the floor.
