KUWAIT CITY, Jul 6: Authorities have launched an investigation after money mysteriously disappeared from the bank account of a man shortly after his death, leaving his family searching for answers.
The case was referred to the competent investigative authorities by the Commercial Affairs Prosecution following a complaint filed by the deceased man's son, a Syrian national.
According to a security source, the man's father had been receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Al-Adan Hospital before he passed away.
After his father's death, the son went to collect his personal belongings, including his bank card. However, when he later checked the bank account, he was stunned to find that the entire balance of KD902 had been withdrawn.
Investigators are now working to determine when the withdrawals were made, identify the person responsible, and establish whether any criminal offence was committed.
The competent authorities have begun legal procedures as the investigation continues to uncover the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the funds.
