Syrian hitchhikers caught for robbing car-owners

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: Two Syrians were arrested for hitchhiking and stealing from motorists. According to security sources, a number of Asian motorists lodged complaints that they were attacked by two unknown Arab hitchhikers and robbed of their money.

A team of Farwaniya securitymen were formed to conduct investigations and arrest the suspects. After identifying them, they were arrested while making another attempt to hitchhike and rob motorists.

The victims recognized the suspects in a police lineup, after which the suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, a man in his 20s reported at Taima Police Station that an unknown individual broke the window of his vehicle and stole KD 360 that was inside the vehicle. Investigations were launched to find and arrest the suspect. In addition, an Egyptian expatriate filed a breach-oftrust case against a compatriot woman, accusing her of stealing KD 800 from the laundry in Jabriya area where she works and disappearing. Securitymen launched investigations to find the absconding employee.
