KUWAIT CITY, July 20: Jahra Governor Hamad Al-Habashi chaired the first meeting of the Supreme Committee for Preparing Jahra Governorate as a Healthy Governorate, according to a press release issued by the Jahra Governorate on Monday. The meeting was attended by Vice Chair Dr. Laila Al-Hais, committee members, and representatives of relevant government entities, and focused on enhancing coordination to meet the standards of healthy governorates.
The committee reviewed the decision establishing its formation and subsidiary bodies, and discussed Jahra’s vision to become a sustainable, healthy governorate in line with national efforts to promote public health, improve quality of life, and advance sustainable development. The session also included a presentation on the Healthy Governorates Program, outlining its objectives, governance structure, and committee responsibilities, alongside discussions on coordination mechanisms and work methodologies. An initial action plan and schedule of upcoming meetings were approved to support implementation in line with best practices. Al-Habashi stressed the importance of unified institutional efforts and inter- agency cooperation to meet World Health Organization standards, enhance service quality, and strengthen the overall health environment, positioning Jahra as a model for sustainable development.
