Sun rule violators face fine of 100-200 dinars

KUWAIT CITY, July 18: Occupational Safety Inspector at the Public Authority for Manpower, Abdullah Al-Otaibi, said the inspection tour of the South Abdullah Al-Mubarak area to implement Ministerial Resolution No. 535/2015 which prohibits working under direct sunlight from 11:00 to 4:00 pm during summer resulted in issuing warnings to 11 companies and 11 workers. He explained during re-inspection if the inspectors find the violating workers, they will be referred to the legal affairs department, and then legal and the administrative measures will follow, including closing a file of the company and a fine ranging from 100-200 dinars.

Al-Otaibi told Al-Seyassah daily the inspectors will be revisit the sites after some time to ensure the companies and workers are committed to implementing the decision. The decision came into effect on June 1 and lasts until August 31. He pointed out the implementation of the decision comes from the premise that Kuwait has signed on a number of agreements in the field of human rights, and is keen to implement it to protect this category from the heat of the weather.
