KUWAIT CITY ,Oct 11: Two Kuwaiti players, Wasmaya Abdullah and Sharifa Iskandar advanced to the second round of the doubles competitions in the World Bowling Championship, hosted by Kuwait from October 4th to 15th. They successfully emerged from a group that included players from Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Canada, Singapore, and the Philippines. Additionally, players from Korea, Colombia, Denmark, China, Germany have also secured their place in the men's events. The doubles competitions for both men and women are set to enter the second round, followed by the semi-finals and final matches, commencing today.

Toben Andersen, President of the Danish Bowling Federation, expressed his appreciation for the excellent organization of the World Bowling Championship and the warm hospitality extended to participants. He commended the diligent efforts of the championship's organizing committee, led by Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, in ensuring the event's success. Andersen remarked, "Over the course of more than seven consecutive days, we have witnessed a marvelous organization in this bowling complex, which ranks among the best in the world. The intense competitions confirm the significant growth of the sport in various countries worldwide."

Emphasizing the need to promote bowling as a sport for people of all ages, Andersen stated that there is an opportunity to expand the game to various countries across different continents. He expressed hope that the International Bowling Federation's new Board of Directors, led by Al-Mohamed, will continue their outstanding work in the future, contributing to the game's development and global reach. Andersen also praised the comprehensive sporting excellence of the bowling complex, which he believed would encourage people of all ages in Kuwait to engage in the sport.
