KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7: Sulaibikhat has written a new chapter in its history by reaching the Volleyball Premier League semifinals for the first time, securing the fourth and final spot with a convincing 3-0 victory over Al-Arabi in the final round of the preliminary stage.

The team has enjoyed an impressive run in recent weeks, particularly since sporting activities resumed following the suspension in March amid regional developments. Its performances earned it a place among the league's top four, finishing fourth behind leader Kuwait Club, Qadsia, and Kazma.

In the other match of the round, Qadsia defeated Kuwait Club 3-0 to climb into second place, while Kuwait Club maintained its position at the top of the standings.

The semifinals are scheduled for Monday, with Sulaibikhat facing Kuwait Club in a bid to extend its remarkable run and secure a place in the final.

The historic achievement followed an intensive preparation program after the resumption of sporting activities. Sulaibikhat held an overseas training camp in Cairo, where it played several friendly matches against Egyptian teams. The club also reinforced its squad with foreign professionals and experienced local players.

Sulaibikhat Secretary-General Nasser Mansi congratulated the club's board and supporters on the team's maiden semifinal appearance in the Premier League.

Mansi said the milestone was the product of careful planning, intensive preparation, and sustained backing from the club's board, headed by Saad Enad. He also praised the efforts of the technical and administrative staff, led by head coach Ahmed Rafha and coach Niaz Al-Salam, along with the administrative and medical teams.

He reserved special praise for the players, highlighting their commitment, hard work, and contributions throughout the campaign.
