‘Success rate high, Kuwait turns center for fat-removing surgery’ – ‘Bonuses for MoH employees soon’

KUWAIT CITY, March 21: General Surgery and Bariatric Consultant at Dar Al-Shifa Clinic Dr Yousef Al-Saleh says Kuwait has become world center for weight-loss surgeries due to a huge number of successful surgeries carried out here, reports Al-Rai daily.

In an interview with the daily, Dr Al-Saleh explained that Kuwait is a pioneer in weight-loss surgeries by bringing international experts to the country and hosting international conferences in that regard. This has portrayed a good image for Kuwaiti surgeons in the field of weight-loss surgeries locally, regionally and internationally. He revealed that sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgeries are still sitting on the throne for successful experimental operations.

Assistant Undersecretary for Administration Affairs at Ministry of Health Marzouq Al-Rushaidi declared that the results of efficiency evaluation of employees of Ministry of Health for 2016 have been prepared, reports Al-Nahar daily quoting sources from the health sector. They said the number of employees who underwent efficiency evaluation was 53,334. The sources explained that the budget for excellent performance bonus is KD 9 million. Disbursement of the bonuses will be carried out based on the schedule of Civil Service Commission which is as follows:- KD 1,500 for doctors, consultants and department directors, KD 1,300 for pharmacists and supervisors, KD 1,000 for heads of departments and nursing staff, KD 800 for all employees and administration staff, and KD 400 for technical and support staff.
