KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: Actress Suad Abdullah affirmed the significance of Arab Theater Festival, organized by Arab Theater Authority, as a platform for Arab theater creativity, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

She said the launch of the 11th session on Saturday evening in Cairo can be considered as “a renewed date with the capital of Arab art.” Abdullah, who is a member of the Board of Trustees of Arab Theater Authority, stressed that the latest session returns to Cairo from where the first session was launched.

She praised the concept behind Arab Theater Authority, which was initiated by Ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammad Al-Qasimi, and the support given to theater in the Arab world.

Abdullah explained that the new session of the festival is hosting 450 prominent guests from the field of theater in the Arab world, and 250 plays from the Arab Republic of Egypt. The most important theater productions in the Arab world will be showcased to compete for the Al-Qasimi Award. The State of Kuwait is represented by the play “Mercy” written by Abdul Amir Shamhi, directed by Faisal Al-Obaid, and starring Ali Al-Husseini, Samah, Abdullah Al-Turkmani, Abdullah Al-Balushi and Mehdi Al-Qasab.

Meanwhile, Actress Elham Al-Fadalah affirmed that she will be participating in a number of drama series in the coming phase, reports Al-Anba daily. She explained that she will be part of a Ramadan drama series titled “Wa Ma Adrak Ma Umi” with a huge number of stars.

This series is written by Ali Al-Douhan and directed by Hussein Al-Hulaibi. She will also be part of another series titled “Hodn Al-Shouk”. Meanwhile, Kuwaiti actress Hind Al-Baloushi is preparing for her first radio presentation experience through the program titled “Kasrat Mood Ma’a Hanood”. This program will be broadcasted every Thursday on Kuwait FM from 8 pm to 10 pm, reports Al-Rai daily.

She affirmed that the concept behind this program is new and modern, adding that it will be broadcasted live from the station. Al-Baloushi revealed that she will interview actor Abdulaziz Al-Luwais in the first episode. She said the program is produced by Fatma Al-Azmi, supervised by Ahmad Al-Braiki and directed by Meshal Al-Salem.
