KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: With a work team that includes a teacher, department head, school principal, and three superintendents, the Ministry of Education is preparing a study on the impact of canceling final exams for fifth grade students, as these exams were canceled by a ministerial decision during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they still remain canceled, reports Al-Rai daily. According to an educational source, the transition of a fifth-grade student to the intermediate stage takes place on the basis of short tests and continuous evaluation. This is an indication of a defect, as a student cannot move from one stage to another without a final exam.

The source said, “This transition is similar to the automatic elevation that was applied in the primary stage, and its cost was exorbitant to the ministry in the past years.” Meanwhile , the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Ammar Al-Ajmi says the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) is currently working on the completion of the South Saad Al-Abdullah and South Sabah Al-Ahmad projects, which include 45,000 housing units, reports Al-Rai daily.

He said this in a press statement issued on the sidelines of the launch of the activities of the 11th Industries and Building Exhibition at the Jumeirah Messilah Hotel. Al-Ajmi also highlighted that PAHW is waiting to finance the plot owners in four areas of Mutla City – N1, N2, N3, and N4 – which will include about 10,000 housing units. He affirmed the keenness of the government to prepare buildings for citizens as soon as possible and with high quality to ensure their well-being, as well as to shorten the waiting period for those who are eligible for housing care.
