KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7, (Agencies): The “Studio Wednesday” group continues its monthly presentation of Palestinian films under the patronage of the Kuwait Cinema Club. This month, they screened two films, “Gaza Mon Amour” directed by Tarzan and Arab Nasser, and “The Remaining Time” directed by Elia Suleiman.

Celebrating ten years of their film activities, they have presented and discussed 415 films and highlighted the contributions of the late Imad Al-Nuwairi, a prominent film critic who made significant contributions to cinematic interpretations.

“Gaza Mon Amour” delves into the story of love and hope amid the challenges of life in Gaza, including bombings, blockades, and resistance. The film portrays a love story and marriage, reflecting the trials faced by those living in Gaza.

On the other hand, “The Remaining Time” explores the Palestinian issue from the perspective of Arabs living within, shedding light on life under occupation through dark comedy.

During the event, the founder of the studio, Alaa Al Barbari, delivered a eulogy for Imad Al-Nuwairi. He expressed his gratitude to the Kuwait Cinema Club, its president Hussein Al Khawalid, and the board members for their continuous support in spreading the culture of cinema. He praised the club for its vital role in developing the cinematic movement.

Dr. Mustafa Attia also delivered a speech, expressing his appreciation for the pure cinematic art of Imad Al-Nuwairi, which was free from external influences and provided unique perspectives to the cinema audience.

Moreover, the critic Omar Fawzi shared his memories with the Kuwait Cinema Club and its director, who encouraged him to pursue cinema. The event included discussions of the two films, led by the poet Saeed Al-Mahamid, who provided his personal insights and perspective on the movies.
