Students of private schools exempted from paying transport, activities fees

KUWAIT CITY, April 9: The Ministry of Education has announced that foreign private school students are exempted from paying fees for transportation and all school activities.

This came in a circular issued by Assistant Undersecretary for Special and Quality Education Dr Abdul Mohsen Al-Huwailah.

The circular on the mechanism for completing the academic year 2019/2020 in foreign private schools as follows:

1. Schools should not collect fees for transportation (bus) and all kinds of school activities for the period starting from the suspension of classes until the end of the academic year 2020/2019, taking into account Item Three of this circular.

2. Fees collected for transportation and activities should be deducted from the tuition fees owed by the student for academic year 2019/2020. In the event that the guardians or parents paid the tuition fees in advance, the transportation and activity fees are refunded upon their request.

3. Students who do not wish to continue the academic year 2019/2020 through distance education (online education) in foreign and Arab private schools should pay the transportation fees only.

In the event that the guardians or parents request for completion of the academic year only within the period specified by the ministry, they be exempted from paying other fees – those outside the scope of tuition fees.
