BANGKOK, Aug 7: A suspected student gunman died after opening fire at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Thailand's Nonthaburi province on Friday, killing two people and injuring up to 20 others, according to local media and emergency responders.

The shooting occurred in Bang Kruai district on the northwestern outskirts of Bangkok. Rescue teams transported injured students to nearby hospitals, while teachers evacuated students and staff from the campus. Police identified the suspected shooter as a student at the school and recovered dozens of rounds of ammunition from a bag believed to belong to him. Emergency personnel attempted to revive the suspect, but he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities secured the school and launched an investigation into the circumstances and motive behind the attack. Emergency officials also urged motorists to keep roads clear to allow ambulances and rescue vehicles access to the scene.
