KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: Al-Qadsia and Al-Arabi claimed victories over Al-Shabab and Bargan, respectively, both with identical 3-0 scorelines in the second round of the volleyball league. The tournament began Thursday with Kuwait Club defeating Kazma 3-1 and Al-Sulaibikhat overcoming Al-Nasr 3-0.

These results gave Al-Qadsia, Al-Arabi, Al-Sulaibikhat, and Kuwait Club their first three points of the season, while Kazma, Al-Nasr, Barqan, and Al-Shabab remain without points. Yarmouk and Al-Sahel are set to begin their campaigns tomorrow.

Al-Qadsia dominated their match against Al-Shabab, winning the sets 25-18, 25-10, and 25-20. Al-Arabi faced a tougher challenge against Barqan but secured a straight-sets 3-0 win, with scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-12.

The league format features an initial single-division stage, with the top six teams advancing to the Premier Division, which is split into three groups. The team with the most wins in this stage claims the championship, while the first-place team in the preliminary round receives an extra victory as an advantage in the next stage. Teams ranked seventh to tenth, along with the youth national team, compete in the First Division, also divided into three groups.
