DOHA, April 29, (KUNA): Kuwaiti squash player Abdullah Al-Mayouf claimed second place at the Qatar Youth Squash Tournament, following an impressive run that ended with a final match loss to Asia’s top-ranked player, Yuwanshi Lu of China.
Held in the Qatari capital, Doha, the tournament featured 74 players from around the world and kicked off on Saturday.
Speaking to KUNA, Abdullah’s father, Hussien Al-Mayouf, expressed pride in his son's performance, highlighting the value of participating in such high-level competitions. “Taking part in this tournament boosts players' standing in Asia’s rankings,” he said. “I’m proud of Abdullah’s strong showing and hope it motivates him toward even greater achievements.”
Al-Mayouf’s second-place finish marks a significant milestone for Kuwaiti youth squash on the regional stage.
