MANILA, Mar 5: An Emirates flight carrying the first group of stranded Filipinos from Dubai arrived safely in Manila on Thursday morning.

Flight EK336 touched down at Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 6:45 a.m., transporting 299 Filipino nationals, including 23 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and two children.

Most of the passengers were stranded tourists, while others had opted to return home for safety following advice from their employers. Some had already completed their work contracts but were unable to depart earlier due to the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East.

The DMW and OWWA welcomed home the first batch of repatriates from the Middle East early Thursday morning, March 5, at NAIA Terminal 3. According to DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, 299 Filipinos were on board Emirates Airlines Flight 336 from Dubai.
