Kuwait City, July 15: Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, sponsored the 2nd Bloom Market, which highlighted a “Plastic-free July” initiative amongst other activities focusing on sustainable living. The sponsorship aligns with stc's 2024 sustainability program and follows the Company's commitment to environmental preservation and the adoption of long-term sustainable practices.

The Bloom Market was held at the Avenues Mall from July 11th – 13th, with the theme focusing on a plastic-free July. In alignment with the concept, the event featured 17 local businesses, with participants ranging from recycled furniture stores to eco-friendly daily consumables and fashionwear. The market also included numerous activities and awareness workshops aimed at raising awareness about the importance of preserving the environment and reducing plastic usage. Visitors were also able to view different innovative products that contribute to sustainable living from the different participating businesses.

stc’s sponsorship of the market, for the second year, follows the strategic partnership formed in collaboration with SEEDs Co. under the “weyak” umbrella, which focuses on supporting local SMEs and start-ups as well as youth initiatives. The Company indicated that by incorporating sustainability into the core of its operations and community activities, stc aims to demonstrate its belief in the power of small, sustainable moves to make a significant impact.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Danah AlJasem said, “Environmental stewardship and encouraging sustainable living are two key attributes that fall under our progressive sustainability strategy at stc. We are thrilled with the level of participation at the 2nd Bloom Market in Kuwait, and highly support this year’s theme of promoting a plastic-free month. Our sponsorship of the Bloom Market reflects stc’s commitment to sustainability, preserving the environment, and supporting local SMEs operating within this field. SEEDs Co. has managed to once again create an appealing platform for all ages while making sustainability an inclusive and engaging topic for discussion and action.”

AlJasem further added, “stc would like to congratulate SEEDs Co. for another successful market that included various initiatives to educate the local community on environmental preservation. Our commitment to sustainability remains a core aspect of our CSR strategy, and we firmly believe that through collective efforts with both the govt. and private sectors, we can make a significant impact on our community and inspire lasting change for future generations.”

Yuser Almutawa, Chief Operating Officer of SEEDs Co., said, “We are proud to have had stc as the main sponsor of the 2nd Bloom Market and look forward to more future collaborations that will positively influence our community. Their commitment to sustainability and community engagement perfectly aligns with our mission to promote a lifestyle that prioritizes environmental consciousness. She also highlighted that events and activities similar to the Bloom Market are crucial for encouraging entrepreneurs in various sustainability fields to develop their businesses and concepts. They also play a significant role in increasing Kuwaiti consumer awareness about the availability of sustainable consumer goods in Kuwait.”
