KUWAIT CITY, Sept 21: Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, announced that it has won the ‘ICT -Telecommunications Award – Kuwait’ for the entry 5G at the Middle East Technology Excellence Awards – a distinguished platform devoted to acknowledging and celebrating the pioneers of technological innovation. The country level award reflects stc’s strategic approach to enhancing its connectivity network, especially through various upgrades and solutions related to 5G technology.
stc was honored with the prestigious recognition following a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation by the elected judges from renowned auditing and accounting firms such as Crowe UAE, Baker Tilly Middle East, BDO UAE, and RSM AE Technology. To be nominated for the award, stc submitted a detailed report that highlighted its pioneering initiatives and significant milestones achieved in 2024 within the ICT category. Entries submitted to the judging panel were reviewed based on their uniqueness and innovation, effectiveness and impact, as well as dynamism. stc was announced as the winner of the ICT award at the award ceremony held at the Grand Hyatt Convention Centre in Dubai, UAE. The solution has increased the handover success rate to 99%, reduced latency, and provided a more consistent user experience across voice and data services. This approach also simplified the upgrade to 5G Standalone (SA) through software updates, eliminated the need for extensive new hardware investments required for faster deployment of new digital services.
In addition to its advancements in 5G technology, stc introduced a Mobile VPN solution, providing secure access to both public and private networks without the need for manual logins or extra authentication. This innovative solution enhances security and connectivity for businesses and organizations, enabling seamless and secure communication. With Mobile VPN, users can seamlessly connect to networks without the hassle of changing cards or numbers, fostering enhanced collaboration, heightened security, and seamless connectivity. This marks a significant step towards a new era of digital transformation and productivity, further solidifying stc's position as a leader in the telecom industry.
Additionally, stc continues to push the boundaries of innovation with its telecom cloud platform, which supports the future evolution of its 5G network. The platform incorporates ARM-based CPU architecture, providing high computing efficiency and reducing power consumption, aligning with stc’s commitment to sustainability and cutting-edge technology.
