CAIRO, Oct 16, (Agencies): In the upcoming Ramadan drama season, there is a notable absence of several stars who shone brightly in the previous year. Despite actor Mohamed Ramadan's announcement about the production of the second part of the hit series "Ja'far Al-Amada," he is among the missing, as the production team has chosen to compete outside of the Ramadan slot.
Actress Laila Eloui had previously declared her absence from the coming season, a decision she made two years ago to reduce her television commitments due to the long shooting hours. Additionally, she prefers to participate in short series consisting of ten episodes that are broadcast on digital platforms.
Actor Ahmed Fahmy has made a firm decision to step away from the world of drama for three years after achieving significant success in his last two dramatic works: "Serh Al-Bata'" last Ramadan and "Saffah Al-Giza," which concluded its broadcast recently. Ahmed Fahmy aims to focus on his upcoming cinematic ventures, with a strong emphasis on the second part of the film "Mr. X." He will also be responsible for penning the story and screenplay for the second part of the film "Keda Reda," starring Ahmed Helmy.
Similarly, actor Ahmed Ezz is missing from Ramadan drama for the second consecutive year, following his participation in three seasons of the series "Al-Ekhtiyar." Currently, he is immersed in filming two movies, "Firqat Al-Mawt" and "Awlad Rizq 3."
Yousra and Nelly Karim have yet to make a decision about their involvement in the upcoming season. They have a prior agreement with the "Al-Adel Group" company not to participate in the 2024 drama season. This agreement permits them to work with other production companies since they have existing contracts with the company.
Actress Donia Samir Ghanem is another notable absentee. Her absence is due to her indecision regarding the concept she wishes to present. After her appearance in the series "Gat Salima" during the previous Ramadan, Donia is currently occupied with preparations for the theatrical show "Anstuna." Additionally, she is gearing up to film a cinematic production in which she stars alongside artist Rahma Ahmed.
