Egyptian National Football Team and Al-Ahly Football Club of Egypt player Hosam Ashour expressed happiness for being in his second home – Kuwait. He was surprised by the warm and fervent reception given by his fans when he visited Al-Ahly Soccer Academy to celebrate the third year of its establishment. Speaking at the event, he pointed out the international ban on Kuwaiti sports generally, and football in particular, has had negative implication on the entire Arab sports. He said the absence of Kuwait at the Mundial, as well as non-participation of great Kuwaiti clubs like Al-Qadsiya, Al-Arabia, Al-Kuwait, Al-Salmiya and Kazma in continental competitions, shocked every lover of soccer. He stated that nobody expected Kuwait to be missing out the action during the remaining part of the World Cup qualifying series, especially since the teams were performing well and had good results. He affirmed the Kuwaiti clubs provided their mettles in the Asian Cup but the absence deprived them of the opportunity to win laurels. He rated Kuwait to be equally great as sporting nations such as Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and Saudi Arabia, with a large number of fans. Talking about Al-Ahly Soccer Academy, he said the standard of players signals a bright future. He urged the officials to maintain the standard set in the past three years, disclosing the trainers and officials showed special interest in developing the talent of budding players, because they are considered the nucleus of the future. On his personal professional level, he thanked Egyptian National Team Coach Copper for including him in the team that qualified the country for Mundial 2018 in Russia. He said the inclusion has a great impact in his mind. He hopes to be part of the team during the World Cup finals next summer, since it is the dream of every player. He concluded that the future requires extra efforts to carry out the daunting task ahead.
