KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: Something was unusual as the St Mark’s Cathedral in Kuwait celebrated the Christmas. There were no crowds of people and the attendance for the Christmas Eve mass was restricted to church priests only, in compliance with the local authorities’ decision to prevent gatherings to limit the spread of ‘corona’ pandemic.

The patron of the cathedral, Father Paulos Anba Bishoy picked up this event to emphasize in his speech on the occasion of the ‘Feast of Hope’ the need for hope in this year and to live in the hope of a ‘better tomorrow’, so that the faithful do not get tired spiritually, physically or intellectually, adding with the beginning of ‘Corona’ “we spoke a lot about hope after we were surprised, day and night, that the world stood and prostrated and prayed to Almighty God, ‘Glory be to You alone, You are the hope for all of us, and now we thank You that the vaccine is found.”

Father Bishoy wished prosperity for Kuwait, its leaders, its government and its kind people, goodness and peace, extending special thanks to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah
