Sri lankan drug peddler held

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: Personnel from the General Department for Drugs Control have arrested a Sri Lankan for trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting security sources said police acting on a tipoff set the trap for the man and caught him red-handed in Maidan Hawally, while selling drugs. Police then seized from his house in Nugra, 300 grams of heroin, 70 grams of meth and a scale. During interrogation he said he was working for an unidentified inmate of the Central Prison.

Trespasser flees: When an unidentified Kuwaiti woman living in Salwa called the police and informed that someone had forced open the door of her house and entered her apartment, police rushed to a house but failed to find the intruder, reports Al-Anba daily. The woman, who is believed to be in her 40s, has given police description of the suspect. However, she failed to mention the reason why the suspect could have broken into her apartment.

One hurt in mishap: An unidentified individual sustained injuries when his vehicle collided with another on Wafra Road, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about a collision of two vehicles on Wafra Road, securitymen, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the location and discovered that the vehicle was hit several times due to which the driver was trapped inside it. Firefighters pulled out the driver from the vehicle after cutting some of its parts. After paramedics administered first aid on the victim, he was referred to the nearest hospital for treatment.
