Spurious drugs sold – Kuwaiti held

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: Personnel from the Criminal Investigations department have arrested a Kuwaiti for trading in counterfeit and expired drugs for human and animal, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added the police have seized from the man drugs worth KD 200,000.

During interrogation he said he was planning to sell the drugs to health clubs. He was taken into custody after he agreed to sell some drugs to an undercover agent. Police then raided the man’s house and seized large quantity counterfeit and expired drugs.

Meanwhile, the Ahmadi police have arrested an unidentifi ed Indian was reported absconding by his sponsor seven years ago, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, the suspect was arrested by a police patrol in Mina Abdualla on suspicion. When the police asked the man to show his ID, he claimed he left it at home but after police checked his name on computer, they found he was wanted in an absconding case. He had been handed over to the concerned authorities for necessary action.
