KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 21 – The Ministry of Justice has issued a decision, published today in the official gazette Kuwait Alyoum, establishing a tripartite committee to examine applications for compensation related to work injuries.
According to the decision, Article One stipulates the formation of the committee as follows:
- Counselor Khaled Mohammed Khalifa Al-Khurafi, Appeals Court Judge – Chairman
- Sheikha Mohammed Al-Shammali, Representative of the Ministry of Finance – Member
- Counselor Turah Nasser Al-Roudhan, Representative of the Fatwa and Legislation Department – Member
- Dalal Abdulrahman Al-Qattan, Head of the Secretariat Section – Rapporteur
- Shaimaa Mohammed Al-Jassem, Senior Administrative Coordinator (Transaction Secretary) – Secretary
- Dana Ali Hussein Al-Helali, Senior Administrative Coordinator (Transaction Secretary) – Secretary
Article Two states that the committee will review compensation applications in cases of death or permanent disability occurring during and as a result of work. The committee will then present its findings, along with a detailed report, to the Compensation Committee for final consideration.
Article Three provides that the committee shall determine its working procedures and system to ensure the speedy resolution of compensation claims. Meetings will be held at the Ministry of Justice headquarters.
Article Four requires the committee to adhere to existing regulations governing compensation for death or disability caused by work, specifically those outlined in Civil Service Bureau Circular No. 15 of 1983.
Article Five grants the committee the authority to seek assistance from any experts or individuals it deems necessary in carrying out its duties.
Article Six instructs all concerned authorities to implement the decision, notify relevant parties, and enforce it from the date of issuance.
