KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16, (Agencies): The International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) has announced that Kuwait’s Parliament Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim would finance evacuation operations of tens of thousands of Syrians from Aleppo to safe areas on Syrian-Turkish borders.

In statements to KUNA Thursday, Director of IICO’s Media and Public Relations Department Salah Al-Jassem stated that Al-Ghanim would pay the costs of the evacuation convoys and their fueling, guards, food, and basic nursing and healthcare services to the sick evacuees.

He pointed out that the IICO has coordinated with the Syrian Saed Charity to estimate the number of people who need evacuation from Aleppo and the cost of their evacuation. “We have informed Al- Ghanim about the total cost of the evacuation operations and he donated the total sum,” Al- Jassem told KUNA.
