LOS ANGELES, Feb 18, (Agencies): Marco Troper, the 19-year-old son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, has passed away. A freshman at UC Berkeley’s Clark Kerr Campus, Troper was discovered unresponsive in his dormitory on Tuesday afternoon, as confirmed by a school spokesperson.

The University of California Police Department at Berkeley received a notification from the Berkeley Fire Department around 4:23 pm local time, indicating that life-saving measures were being attempted on Troper. Despite their efforts, the fire department later declared Troper dead. While the cause of death remains unknown, campus police have ruled out foul play.

Esther Wojcicki, Troper’s grandmother, expressed her belief that her grandson succumbed to a drug overdose. She stated that he had ingested an unknown substance, emphasizing the uncertainty regarding its composition. Describing Troper as both “loving” and a “math genius,” Esther lamented the tragic loss, stating that he had the potential to make a significant impact.

In a heartfelt Facebook post on Thursday, Esther conveyed the profound devastation felt by Troper’s family. She described him as a kind, intelligent, and fun-loving individual who had just embarked on the second semester of his freshman year at UC Berkeley, where he was majoring in mathematics and thoroughly enjoying his studies.
