KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: The date for ending the exemption of certain categories from the official working hours in government agencies has yet to be specified, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Sources reiterated that no official decision has been taken about specifying the last day of October for ending the exemption from official working hours in light of the corona crisis, confirming the exemption will continue until a decision stating otherwise is issued. Sources said such a decision is related to the development of epidemiological cases and resolutions adopted by the health authorities in this regard.

Sources pointed out the end of work for the Technical Committee tasked to approve the medical reports of employees in the Ministry of Health does not mean that it is applied to all workers in government agencies. Sources added the CSC has not received any recommendation from the health authorities that determine the end of the crisis and ensure the decision does not pose a threat to those exempted once they resume work.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health Undersecretary Dr Mustafa Reda issued an administrative circular to extend the period for allowing the ministry’s employees to enjoy periodic leave until the end of January 2021 and that the conditions for doing so remain in effect, reports Al-Jarida daily.
