LOS ANGELES, Dec 6, (Agencies): Sofía Vergara is facing a lawsuit from contractors who renovated her Los Angeles mansion, alleging that she owes them over $1.7 million for their services. Reside Custom Homes (RCH), in a complaint filed on Nov 27, claims that the 51-year-old Modern Family star has not paid two invoices from March and July 2023, totaling $1,700,492.64. The legal filing includes accusations of breach of contract, promissory fraud, intentional interference with contractual relations, and other claims.
Sofía Vergara's attorney, Martin Singer, countered the allegations in a statement, revealing that his client had raised concerns about Reside's practices months before the lawsuit. Singer stated, "Sofia Vergara’s claims were for significant overcharging by Reside, substandard and negligent work, and long delays seeking damages in excess of $5 million." He expressed confidence that Vergara would emerge victorious in this dispute.
Public records indicate that Vergara acquired the Los Angeles mansion for approximately $26 million in 2020, during her marriage to ex-husband Joe Manganiello. The couple, who announced their separation after seven years of marriage in July 2023, had previously listed another property in the area for sale at $18 million in June.
