KUWAIT CITY, May 14: The recent refusal of the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) to lift the ban on Kuwait Football Association has drawn multitude of comments and negative reactions from soccer fans in Kuwait. Most of the people who reacted to the development agreed that the government should take necessary steps to ensure lifting of the ban first before punishing whoever is involved in the conspiracy leading to the ban on Kuwait sports. First of such reactions came from Al-Kuwait Sports Club, which sent out invitations to local clubs for an emergency extraordinary general meeting to declare a vote of no-confidence against Kuwait Football Association.

Al-Salmiya and Al-Arabi sports clubs welcomed the invitation, while they urged other clubs to respond positively to the initiative through which the culprits will be punished. At the parliamentary level, Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee in the Parliament MP Abdullah Al-Ma’youf affirmed that he has concrete proof indicating that Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad, his brother Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad, Secretary-General of the Asian Olympics Council Hussein Al-Muslim and Faisal Al-Dakhil put in concerted efforts to ensure that the suspension was sustained. Rapporteur of the committee MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji declared that outcome of the voting was a strong evidence that Sheikhs Ahmad and Talal Al-Fahad succeeded in their mission. He urged the general assembly of local clubs to hold an emergency meeting in which they will decide on a vote of no-confidence against the association and elect new board.
