MEXICO CITY, Nov 30, (Xinhua): At least six people were killed and five others injured early Saturday in an armed attack at a nightclub in Tula, a city in the central Mexican state of Hidalgo, local media reported.

According to broadcaster Televisa, the incident occurred when a group of gunmen entered the "La Resaka" nightclub and opened fire indiscriminately, killing four people at the scene. Two others later died at a nearby hospital.

However, other reports indicated that the actual death toll might be higher. AFP reported that three injured individuals succumbed to their gunshot wounds while receiving treatment.

Members of the Mexican Red Cross and the national civil protection agency arrived to transport the wounded to hospitals, where several remained in serious condition.

So far, no arrests have been reported, and the victims have not yet been identified. Municipal police and National Guard officers are securing the area to search for the attackers.
