JAIPUR, India, April 6, (AFP): Six people, including a minor, were arrested Tuesday for attacking a group of tourists in western Rajasthan state, police said.
A British and an American man plus two women from Spain and Turkey were attacked with stones by a gang when they tried to resist being mugged of their belongings late Monday.
One of the women’s clothes was also ripped during the assault that happened near Pushkar city, some 150 kilometres (94 miles) from the state capital Jaipur.
Ajmer police chief Nitin Deep Blaggan said the assailants were drunk and were trying to stalk the group, but attacked them when they were confronted by the foreigners.
