KUWAIT CITY, Sept 22: Six Asian expatriates are facing deportation from Kuwait after they were caught gambling inside an apartment in Mahboula, according to a security source.
The case came to light after the Criminal Investigation Department received information that an Asian expatriate was allegedly operating a gambling den from an apartment in the area, with gambling sessions reportedly taking place every weekend.
Detectives launched surveillance and investigation operations to verify the information and monitored the apartment before carrying out a raid.
Inside, officers found the Asian expatriate allegedly managing the apartment along with five other Asian expatriates who were gambling.
Police found KD160 in cash in their possession, which investigators said was being used for gambling.
During questioning, the six suspects reportedly admitted that they met at the apartment every week to gamble.
All six were subsequently referred to the Deportation Department for the necessary legal procedures, including deportation from Kuwait.
