Six arrested across multiple areas with sizable drug stash: MOI
Kuwait's MOI authorities arrest six in nationwide drug crackdown, seizing large amounts of narcotics and psychotropic substances.

KUWAIT, Nov 19:  Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior said the General Department for Drug Control has arrested six suspects in multiple areas nationwide after seizing large quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances, in a renewed push to combat the drug scourge.

In a detailed press statement, the Ministry said the arrests followed precise intelligence indicating the suspects were involved in possessing and distributing illegal drugs. A specialized field team was deployed for surveillance and monitoring, leading to their capture in Shuwaikh Industrial, Salmiya, Salwa, Zahra, and Tayma.

According to the Ministry, officers seized 3 kilograms of methamphetamine (crystal meth), 5.1 kilograms of marijuana, 115 grams of hashish, 6 grams of cocaine, and 6,200 capsules of various psychotropic pills, including Tramadol, Xanax, Lyrica, and other controlled substances.

Other confiscated items included 100 electronic shisha heads filled with hashish liquid, four sensitive scales, and a quantity of empty nylon bags used for packaging.

During initial questioning, the six suspects admitted possessing the substances with the intent to traffic and for personal use. They were referred, along with the seized materials, to the competent investigative authorities for further legal action.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its firm and unwavering commitment to combating drugs in all forms, stressing that security operations would continue to target dealers and traffickers. It said these measures aim to protect society, preserve public security and stability, and maintain a safe environment free from toxic substances that threaten the nation’s youth.
