Regarding the development project for Shuwaikh opposite Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, Dr. Kamal explained that the committee had previously approved a donation from a local bank to support the project for Shuwaikh Beach, which covers a total area of 150,766 square meters. The committee also approved the four main components of the project, their uses, and activities. These include sports fields, green spaces, beach areas, enclosed sports facilities, walking paths, as well as commercial and recreational spaces.
In a press statement issued following the committee meeting, Dr. Kamal affirmed that this project is expected to be one of the most distinctive and promising developments along the seafront. He revealed that another significant project discussed during the meeting was the Injaz Market project, which was executed by Kuwait Municipality in Al-Rai as part of its small projects initiative.
Dr. Kamal highlighted that the municipality, after a brief period of operation, understood the need to adjust the percentages of certain uses and activities outlined in the project. He said the committee decided to return the project to the executive body for an updated response and to review the suggestions from committee members, which must be taken into consideration before proceeding with any modifications to ensure optimal utilization of the project.
