KUWAIT CITY, Feb 9: Chairman of the Federation of Restaurants, Cafès and Catering Supplies Fahd Al-Arbash said the decision of the Ministry of Interior to close restaurants, cafès and shisha establishments after 12:00 midnight will harm the operations of nearly 700 restaurants and cafés in craft and industrial areas, reports Al-Anba daily.

In a statement to the daily, Al-Arbash pointed out that 50 percent of the revenues of these establishments are achieved after 10:00 pm. He said the average revenue of one restaurant is estimated at KD10,000 per month; and half of which will be lost once it closes after midnight. He added this means the sector will lose around KD42 million annually due to the ministry’s decision.
