Shreyas Talpade on his heart attack: ‘It’s my second chance at life’

MUMBAI, India, Jan 3: Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade recently shared the details of his harrowing experience with a heart attack in December 2023, describing his recovery as a “second chance at life.” In an interview with ETimes, Talpade emphasized the unexpected nature of the health setback, expressing gratitude for his wife, doctors, and well-wishers.

Talpade revealed that his hectic work schedule, including non-stop film shoots and extensive travel, had left him feeling fatigued for the past few months. Despite getting regular health check-ups, his cholesterol levels were high, and he had a family history of heart ailments, prompting him to take precautions.

The actor recounted the moment he experienced breathlessness and pain in his left hand after a film shoot. Initially attributing it to muscle fatigue from action sequences, he decided to head home first but eventually opted for a hospital visit. On the way, he faced a cardiac arrest, with two main arteries blocked (one 100% and the other 99%).

After being revived through CPR and angioplasty, Talpade spent five days under observation. He acknowledged the overwhelming support from his family, friends, and industry colleagues, expressing gratitude for the “second chance at life.”

As he plans to take it easy and recover, Talpade emphasizes spending time with family, watching films, and reading books. He conveyed his immense thanks to everyone involved in saving his life, acknowledging the debt he could never repay.

The actor’s wife, Deepti, also expressed gratitude for the “Good Samaritans” who came to their aid during the critical situation. Talpade, known for his roles in films like “Iqbal” and “Om Shanti Om,” concluded that the experience served as a massive wake-up call, transforming his perspective on life.
