Shop selling sexual enhancement products shut in Farwaniya

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Director of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Faisal Al-Ansari confirmed that inspection teams are continuing their intensive campaigns in various governorates, as the ministry is keen on protecting consumers and ensuring that commercial facilities are complying with market laws and regulations.

Al-Ansari told the newspaper that Farwaniya Governorate witnessed a series of intensive inspection tours in recent days, which resulted in the closure of a shop selling unlicensed sexual enhancement products. He said these products contain substances of unknown origin and their sale is prohibited as they are not authorized by the Ministry of Health. He added that a decision was immediately issued to close the shop and refer the case to the Commercial Prosecution. He also affirmed the closure of a furniture store after receiving complaints from consumers regarding its failure to stick to the terms of its contracts, stressing his department does not tolerate any commercial establishment that violates consumer rights or undermines fair business practices.

He asserted that these campaigns are in line with the directives of the senior leadership at the ministry to intensify field monitoring, protect the local market, and guarantee the quality of products and services provided to consumers. He added that consumer protection is a top priority, and that the ministry does not hesitate in taking legal action against anyone proven to have violated the law or endangered consumer health, emphasizing that public health is a red line.
