KUWAIT CITY, Dec 9, (Agencies): The organizing committee for the opening ceremony of Sheikh Jaber International Stadium has announced the 16 names of players chosen by the public to be part of the All-Stars Kuwait Football Team that will play against the International Stars Team on Dec 18.

Kuwait’s football star Ali Maqseed was removed from the list due to his injury, but he will attend the ceremony along with the administration crew, which includes Adel ‘Aqla - the football manager of Kuwait Sports Club. Kuwait All-Stars Team will also include Egyptian superstar Muhammad Abotreka and UAE’s football star Omar AbdulRahman ‘Amouri’. The team will be led by national coach of Kuwait Muhammad Ibrahim who will face the team of 16 international football superstars led by Italian Carlos Antilotti.

Meanwhile, renowned UAE sports commentator Fares Awadhi announced that he has accepted the invitation of the organizing committee to commentate on the match between the international stars and Kuwait All-Stars Team. On his twitter account, Awadh posted that he is honored to accept the invitation to come to Kuwait to commentate on the match between a galaxy of international and local football stars. He extended his appreciation and gratitude to the organizing committee and Khaled Al-Rawdan, member of the Board Council of the Public Authority for Sports.

Meanwhile, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said on Wednesday he looks forward to a great celebration for launching the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. Speaking to reporters during a tour of the stadium, the minister said: “The celebration should suit the status of the stadium and the name of the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad.” “We have done our best in preparation for the event,” he said, adding that preparations and arrangements by the organizing committee for the celebration were in full swing.
