KUWAIT CITY, Jan 28: Deputy President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Al-Nawaf Al-Sabah, has congratulated Kuwait Olympic Committee President Sheikh Fahd Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on his appointment as Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for the West Asia region, following a decision by the OCA Executive Board.

In a press statement, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah described the appointment as well-deserved, saying it reflects the high level of confidence placed in Kuwaiti sports leadership across the Asian continent. He noted that the new role will further strengthen Kuwait’s presence on the Asian sports stage and reinforce its active role in Olympic decision-making.

He added that the selection of Sheikh Fahd Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is recognition of his efforts and contributions to the development of the Olympic movement, wishing him continued success in his new responsibilities in the service of both Kuwaiti and Asian sport.

Meanwhile, President of the Sports Media Coordinators Association, Manawar Al-Mutairi, congratulated Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, on his official election by acclamation as President of the Olympic Council of Asia. He also extended his congratulations to Sheikh Fahd Nasser Al-Sabah on his appointment as Vice President of the Council for the Asia region.
