Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah released on bail of KD 20,000 in Bangladeshi MPs bribery case

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: The Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Abdullah Al-Othman, released on bail of KD 20 thousand each the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah, an official from the Public Authority for Manpower and a candidate from the Fourth Constituency, reports Aljarida daily.

This decision was taken after the court listened to the defense testimony in the case, which ended with the court setting the session of January 28 to issue its verdict.

The session witnessed the admission of the first defendant – the Bangladeshi MP – that he was the one who informed the security and judicial authorities about the bribery incident, and that he had been subjected to extortion. He demanded to be pardoned on the basis of being the whistleblower.
