KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah on Monday chaired the inaugural meeting of a team tasked with organizing the construction and licensing of Husseiniyas and mosques.

Sheikh Fahad emphasized that the initiative reflects Kuwait’s vision to enhance religious activities while ensuring strict adherence to national laws and regulations, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The minister noted that the move aims to uphold religious and humanitarian values and maintain Kuwait’s prestigious standing both regionally and internationally.

The meeting, held with representatives from relevant government agencies, follows directives from Kuwait’s leadership to establish clear procedures and high standards for the licensing and management of religious institutions. The goal, the statement added, is to maximize their positive impact and strengthen their role in serving the community.

Sheikh Fahad affirmed that the initiative underscores Kuwait’s commitment to organizing religious and charitable work, safeguarding the country’s leadership role, and protecting its distinguished reputation.
