KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: A Gulf woman in Kuwait was left stunned after discovering that most of the savings she had accumulated in a piggy bank at her home had disappeared, leaving only KD70 behind.
According to a security source, the Gulf woman reported the incident at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Police Station, saying she had been saving money in a piggy bank over a long period and regularly adding to the amount.
The woman said her calculations indicated that the savings had eventually exceeded KD3,000. However, after facing financial difficulties, she decided to open the piggy bank and use some of the money she had accumulated.
She was shocked to discover that most of the cash was missing. Only KD70 remained, and some of the surviving banknotes were reportedly in very poor and damaged condition.
The woman did not accuse any particular person of taking the money, leaving investigators to determine how the savings disappeared from her home.
Police registered a theft case and referred it to the investigating authorities. Detectives have begun gathering information and conducting inquiries to determine what happened to the missing money and identify anyone who may have been responsible.
