LOS ANGELES, Feb 20, (Agencies): Allen Iverson had glowing praise for retired NBA star Shaquille O’Neal during the Brotherhood Deli pop-up experience presented by Chase Freedom at NBA All-Star Weekend. At 48, Iverson spoke highly of O’Neal, dubbing him the “most honest and loyal person,” along with being the funniest and smartest individual one would want to be around. The two basketball legends made joint appearances over the three-day weekend in Indianapolis.

During a meet-and-greet at the Brotherhood Deli on Friday, Iverson observed fans of all ages donning his jerseys and seeking autographs, including those who were not yet born during his or O’Neal’s NBA playing days.

The former 11-time NBA All-Star found it particularly gratifying to see young kids who didn’t grow up watching him play show support. Iverson shared his excitement, stating, “I just think it’s cool to see little kids that never got to see you play in person support you.” He attributed their awareness to parents introducing them to his games via platforms like YouTube.

Reflecting on his own experiences, Iverson vividly recalled his first selection to the NBA All-Star Game as a rookie, following his Rookie of the Year achievement in Cleveland. He described it as a moment that made him feel like he had truly arrived.

Addressing the recent decline in defensive intensity during the All-Star Game, resulting in this year’s high-scoring affair with 200 points on Sunday, Iverson agreed with the assessment of the defensive downturn in recent years.
